Color, Paint and Being Human

When Brett Rennison steps into the studio to place supple brush to canvas, color, paint, and being human are translated to artistic expression through the medium of painting.

The lines of laughter, the furrows of sorrow, the contrast of rugged shadow reflected on the softness of a countenance, become the individual’s story of being human.

The light cast from an open window, cascades across an outstretched hand holding a brush, a medium to broadcast color, before a white canvas awaiting discovery of its subject.

The transformation of form becomes the complete work. The transcendence of layers representing the identification of the journey, from the human being, to being human.

We Are All Related

Having drawn, painted and sculpted most of my life, art, and my passion for artistic expression,  have always been inseparable from me.  Painting being autobiographical by nature has allowed me to produce work that reflects what is of interest to me at that time.  As an artist it is my responsibility to produce a unique visual experience for the viewer and myself while transcending subject matter.  The dialogue of color becomes my voice,  making the subject my own. Enjoy your time here, exploring your own individual visual interpretations, while viewing my paintings available for purchase.
